Sussex Centre for Folklore, Fairy Tales and Fantasy - Puck of Pook’s Hill Art Competition Results
As part of their 'Arthur Rackham in Sussex: A 150th Birthday Celebration' The Sussex Centre for Folklore, Fairy Tales and Fantasy will present an exhibition of Arthur Rackham’s works in Sussex for his 150th birthday at the National Trust’s Bateman’s House in September 2017, and with this in mind an art competition was held inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s Puck of Pook’s Hill, which Arthur Rackham illustrated in 1906 for the American edition. The closing date for this was back on the 21st July 2017 for which I entered a piece of pyrography art.
I am thrilled to have come in 3rd place in the competition with my picture, which was inspired by a passage from Rudyard Kiplings 'Puck of Pooks Hill' , I enjoyed working on this piece immensely, especially as the book has been a favourite of mine since I was at school, I am genuinely excited to have been a part of this celebration.
Looking forward to framing the original and hanging it up in the studio, Super happy times...
